I seem to have a thing for compost piles, or things left behind in fields.

A metaphor, an old age illusion... something like that.
 
I saw some interesting photos with high resolution in this page and those made me happy, especially privacy streets and buildings. Heavy traffic and populous streets with a lot of car horns makes me uneasy.

The colorful and bright lights give the cities an excellent view.

I didn't know that these guys had their local chapter in our neighbourhood.

 
First is a discarded/lost item. Quite a while back I read that Tom Hanks has an insta where he only posts pics of old shoes that he's come across--lying in a road, etc. So maybe this is a start on a series:


Next, further 'development' in the compost box that I posted a pic of, above. Maybe I should consider doing a series on this, too.

Must be - none of the ones by the local river are showing any signs of blooming.
 
Colour. I've always had a soft spot for moss!
 
Definitely colour for moss and perhaps a slight increase in saturation and contrast.

Thanks, Nagashima-san! I could have sworn those were cherry blossoms.

I have always thought ume were more like these (taken two weeks ago in our neighbourhood park):



Edit: my wife just told me those above were momo (peach) blossoms. I shall refrain from any further arboreal speculation...

Nothing special--just a "how would it look" experiment. From a bouquet my wife got for her birthday:

 
I always felt Mother Nature was the greatest artist that ever existed.
 
My dad was a Shriner but I never joined. My wife's dad was also a Mason . While we were in Washington D.C. many years ago we heard the Temple there was worth a look. The front doors were 20 feet tall it seemed. No door bell , so I pounded on the door for like 5 minutes. A man who looked to be about 110 years old finally answered. In a very angry voice , he asked what did we want , go away, LOL. I explained about our dads and he let us in. The entrance room was like an Egyptian tomb. It turned out the Temple was the most amazing museum we had ever seen. There were 2 or 3 famous Mason's bodies entombed there. Every famous Mason had donated things going back to George Washington. The old guy was in 7th heaven showing us around and hearing us ooh & awe over everything. It took about 3 hours to take everything in. We had been to all the Smithsonian museums while there in D.C. , but they could not come close to the Masonic Lodge.
 
Caught this little fellow in a park in Tachikawa last Thursday. I wish I had brought my telelens. With at least half a dozen cameras pointed at him, he was keen on putting on a show for us, ridding the tree of its sakura blossoms.
