Yes, I just read a thing on this site that said that Japanese people marry only to have kids. Is that true? Also, it said that the couple doesn't really love each other, and the husband looks at porn and stuff that's crazy! It also said that the two people don't really love each other, and after the woman has a child, she doesn't love the husband anymore. Is this stuff for real? It just sounds very unbelievable to me, I guess.

I think some parts of it is true...but if you don't love a person, I don't think you just keep meeting her/him just to have kids ..I heard that after the kids are there...in some cases they don't meet and greet that often anymore and the mother takes care after the children and daddy goes working until.....and to the Izakaya after that....if its all true..dunnow ?? Ask some of the members here who live there

I wouldn't say it is common but it's not rare. I've seen and known quite a few people in situations like this...but with divorce getting so common nowadays that is where it usually ends up. I think this would deal with the older generations a bit.

We have so many threads around here where this very subject has been addressed.

(and several more)

And for most of the Japanese marriages I've been around or been in, all parties(except for maybe the non-Japanese partner, if there is one *ahem*), lose interest in sex with each other after children are born. It's extremely saddening, believe me.

That'd be awful to be in a relationship like that. I hope it doesn't happen to me.

All depends on the person but it takes two to Tango.

I think we must not generalise to all Japanese. Each person is peculiar and different, so the relations are different. It's sad seeing these cases but the life goes on.

i would personally be very sad to give up sex after having children, i dont know how they manage that.

also i was wondering is it at all common in japan for people to get married but have no children?

Not really. One of the main goals of marriage seems to be to produce children fairly soon after the knot is tied (or very, very shortly thereafter (if you catch my drift), in more cases than you might think). Of course sometimes producing children is more work than many think, so in some cases it can take a few years of serious effort.

Maybe this kind of guess for it has been alredy made on some thread, anyway I'll write something.

It seems like many people think producing children is the goal of marriage.
I think it is something that somehow keeps two who are reluctant to live with each other because after divocing there's no way they can manage things with their children by himself or herself due to the general fact a woman tends to just look after their chilidren and doing something like cleaning, cooking etc that is to be a homemaker and a man tends to be just a worker leaving home arond 7:30am and returning home around 9:00pm.

They can't live without each other when they have children, I think this causes them to do sad things such as affair or having no conversation.

Then the two become indifferent to each other and the ones who live together in order to live but not for love.
