I just discovered that on my iPhone 6 it is possible to go into settings and select the Path Input keyboard to add to the other selectable keyboards, making it possible to easily and quickly swipe the keyboard instead of tapping each letter individually.
If you don't already have it, downloaded the Path app from the App Store and give it a try. Once you get used to it you will find it saves a lot of time and trouble.
