I was just offered a job teaching in japan with the company Interac. I was wondering if anybody else had worked for them, or knew anything about them. I want to know if their a good company before i accept the job.

I know a few people working for Interac and they seem like a decent bunch. I'd ignore the people who think Interac is a Mormon conspiracy, since there is no proof outside of hearsay on bulletin boards to support it

I am working for Interac, and I don't have any problem with them. They pay on time, the working hours are good. The only problem is the long holidays they give us here in the Kansai region (don't know about other locations, though).

My mate in Tokyo is working one or two days a week (and being paid the full rate still) - I think he is going to go insane from having too much free time. Lucky sod

only one or two days a week, and then get 260.000 a month? If you work less than 20 days in the Kansai region they will take 13.000 a day from the 260.000...

Although every situation varies, Interac has gotten a bad reputation among the eikaiwa community. You might want to check on some more eikaiwa-specific forums such as Dave's ESL cafe before making your final decision, as the information in JREF's forums is generally speaking not always accurate, to say the least.

I have a question is Interac related to or the same as NOVA?? I worked for NOVA for 5 years and everytime I look at an Interac add it "smells" of Nova.

Interac and NOVA are different. NOVA is an eikaiwa with in-house classes and multi-media classes (and occasionally dispatches teachers). Interac is totally a dispatch outfit that sends its teachers to high schools and junior highs.

NOVA is a side business of a Japanese insurance corporation.
Interac is owned by Selnate (based in Utah, I think).

They also send teachers to Elementary schools (That's what I am doing for them).
