Hi, sorry for posting a topic before I even introduced myself at the introductions forums but I am in a urgent need to get a straight translation for the following sentence.
I make digital comics online just for the fun of it and in the story which Im doing, one of the main characters is multilingual and of course knows japanese along with several other languages. He receives a Katana as a present from his dearest friend who he conciders his brother although they are not blood-releated in anyway.
The Katana will be having this particular sentence inscribed on it in japanese.
"For my brother. Thanks for everything. -Russ"
I find that there are many ways of saying brother in japanese, unfortunately I have only stumbled on when meaning a blood reletive.
Is there a word for a non-blood releative brother as for close friend type of "brother" ?
I have studied japanese some time now, so I am not that new to japanese but now I need to be sure before I add something in japanese which Im unfamiliar of.
Thank you!
