Ichiro, the first time i heard about him, was from my girlfriend because we talked about j-girl who watch basball in japan, and she was one of them ... she had some good taste i think ICHIRO.. she never went on the photo with him, and never got an signature from him, just she talked to his parents for a while, photo, signature... later on i saw ichiro more on tv in some commercial, that he can use his first name on his shirt, and 2 american guys can not! pretty funny when you see it at least...

from the news i heard him also, he broke some mayor records that are over 60 years old, and he closing to his 1000th hit!!

Ichiro Suzuki (窶氾ｩ窶禿侏?ｪﾋ廸, Suzuki Ichirō, born October 22, 1973 in Toyoyama, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture, Japan) is the right fielder for the Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball team. He moved to the United States in 2001 after playing for seven years for the Orix Blue Wave in Japan's Pacific League. When the Blue Wave granted his release after the 2000 season, Ichiro signed a contract with the Mariners. He became the first Japanese-born everyday position player in the Major Leagues.

2004 was his most impressive season yet, as he set a new all-time, single-season Major League record with 262 hits.

He has got to be the best pure hitter in baseball today! He hits for contact, can place the ball like no other player in the major leagues today, and is an excellent fielder. He is a total ballplayer who would be welcomed on any team...that is difficult to say about most American ballplayers today.

I'm from Washington, where Ichiro's team the Mariners play. He is definetly a great player. He can spray hits all over the field and his blazing speed makes him a threat on offense and defense. There are some quirks about his game though, I can't really seem to remember ever seeing him dive for a baseball, and while his speed makes it so usually he doesn't have to, he came very close to running down a pop fly the other day and if he would have dove he would have caught it, but he just missed it and allowed a couple runs to score because of that. He also has one of the most unusual swings that I have ever seen in baseball, not something you want to see little kids trying to emulate because it only works for him because he is so gifted.
