I was told I am blocked on JREF.

The other day, I tried to log on to JREF but the software refused me, saying my username was blocked. I had just installed NorVPN software and that was the problem. If anyone installs NordVPN and you can't log on, suspet NordVPN first.

Thanks for the update. You're definitely not blocked here.

@Buntaro were you connected to a specific country through VPN? Or was it merely the fact you had it installed?

Dracuella,

I was connected through a foreign country at the time. Merely running the software but not using it to connect to the Internet does not cause the problem.

So it could be that JREF detects something it considers out of the ordinary - @thomas do you know if there's some setup in place that blocks users when they're outside of their login's country of origin so to speak? It could simply be reacting to something out of the ordinary it then deems suspicious.

It's good to know, anyway, I use VPN all the time for accessing streaming services not available in my country so thanks for the heads up, @Buntaro

On top of cloudflare, we use several lines of defence, server-based and software based. While logging on from a different country/IP addresses wouldn't raise a red flag, some VPN services might ("bad neighbourhoods").

In addition to the above, we banned one country outright and have several countries under permanent moderation.

Does the software let you choose what country to use? You could try other countries and see if it works.
