PS--I moved here (in Japan) about a month ago, I don't know the language, but people aren't really changing my name, they're just changing its pronounciation: Sadee = Sah-dee, Kai = Kah-ee, Stucker = Stoo-kehl

In all, I'd say it's a bad idea to try to find kanji for your non-Japanese name; it would make it harder to introduce yourself, and for people to properly read your name as most of the transliterated names I've seen use incoherant readings. I'd sooner use an actual Japanese name, and I don't ever plan on doing that.

I do not know how Peter is pronounced in Swedish, if it is the same as German, then ペーテル (peeteru) is correct. If it is pronounced in English way, then it should be ピーター (piitaa), as Nice Gaijin says.

exactly, which is why we shouldn't try to guess at a Japanese transliteration based on the how it's spelled.
