a NBA game turned into an ugly brawl
the police is investigating the event and might charge some players and fans
and of course,we expect many players to be suspended for quite many games

it was a physical game,and with about 45 seconds left in the game
Pacers' Ron Artest fouled Pistons's Ben Wallace hard
Ben Wallace,who just lost his oldest brother to brain cancer a couple of days ago,got mad and pushed Artest in the face,Pistons and Pacers players were all pushing and shoving
then Artest was laying there on the scorers table, a Pistons fan threw a bottle at him,Artest got up and ran into the stands and punched a guy who was standing besides the guy who threw the bottle,so he punched the wrong guy, things got messy,Pacers players and Pistons fans,securities,Pistons executives all rushed there,Pacers Stephen Jackson ran there and punched a fan a couple of times,the guy who threw the bottle punches Artest twice.
then the other fan punched Pacers Fred Jones a couple of times, Fred Jones wasn't even fighting,
back on the floor a Pistons fan came to challenge Ron Artest,Artest threw a couple of punches and knocked him down,the fan was pulled back by some guys,he got up, Jermaine O'Neal ran there and punches the fan with his right hand,luckily JO slided down,if the motivation keeps going forward the fan would need some stitches

Pacers players,with security guards and some other personels around them,were heading towards the changing room, when Jermaine O'neal was heading there, some idiot threw a chair at him,the chair missed JO but it hit a fan in the head, this prompted the police to bring out pepper spray, fans were throwing popcorns and drinks at the Pacers players


this is the most ugliest basketball game I have ever seen in my life.

Pistons fans are now the rudest fans in my eyes,Ron Artest was wrong,but why did the guy throw a bottle at him at the first place?

I saw it live, and watched the replays for about an hour. Absolutely nuts. Those Pistons fans are f--kin punks and deserved whatever they got. Jermaine got a running shot at some dood standing on the court. The thing that got thrown at Artest was a plastic cup, and some guy tossed a chair at one point. This was ugly, but I still think the game where Rudy T got socked was worse...he damn near died on the court.

What was awesome was watching John Saunders crack on the fans in the post game show.

Jermaine O'Neal - 25 games
Stephen Jackson - 30 games

Reggie Miller - one game

Pistons
Ben Wallace - 6 games
Derrick Coleman,Elden Campbell,Chauncey Billups - one game each

Artest was wrong,but why the heck the fan threw the bottle at him anyways?
if the refs called a T foul on Artest and Wallace,the game would just end,the refs didn't blow whistles and let the whole thing went ugly

I think Artest would be banned from the league if he was a bench player
but he was the Defensive Player of the Year last year,so he received this one season suspension,he will have all the time to work on his Rap album now,I also question his commitment to the team and to the sport,
the NBA and the Bulls knew he was a ticking bomb, he did some stupid thing to Paul Pierce last season, and now the bomb have finally exploded

I agree that the fan deserved to be pummelled! BUT things got way out of hand! The security should have grabbed the fan immediately and taken him out of the building. That didn't happen (of course Artest didn't give them a chance to do that)! But did you see what happened after it was all over? Did you see all of the other fans throwing crap at the players as they left the court? What a bunch of punks...I wouldn't be surprised to see about 3-4 rows of seating go away in most arenas now...and maybe even barriers go up. (something similar to hockey rinks)

When did it become okay to punch people when you get mad? Violence in sports has gotten way out of hand - what happened to sportsmanship?

Just for the rest of the season? I think all involved should be hauled before a judge on criminal charges. It doesn't matter who started it, or who "deserved" what. Society cannot afford to condone this sort of violence by letting people off light.

Fans and players need to grow up; learn to control their emotions. The only difference between man and beast is the ability of man to control their baser instincts.

I feel more bad for the kids that had to see that happen. It was completely dissapointing to see. I watched the news report and it seemed as if they had resolved the matters when one player was lying down. Then this kid throws his beer cup at him? What is that? It's not only the players that were slightly out of hand, it was also the crowd. They made it worse. What are the players supposed to do? Just let them throw chairs and punches at them?
I'm not saying that it wasn't the b-ball players fault. Everyone is at fault. There was a little boy crying in the crowd. Those people should worry more about the harm they caused that kid than dumb lawsuits.

the police will charge all players and fans who were involved,they face up to 93 days in jail, they will start to charge them after they have gather all the evidence,the process will take atleast two weeks

Ron Artest deserves the one year suspension,he is real problem,a dumbass

Artest creates lots of problems , I hope this dumbass never return to the court again.

Now that's just funny. You'd think that one would learn try to remain inconspicuous after having escaped from jail, not to mention all of the other stuff. This guy is a thinker, no doubt about that.

I know I'm a bit late, but here's my two cents worth.

For starters, and this has annoyed me no end, no one's called coaches Rick Carlisle and Larry Brown to task for what happened last Friday night. With a minute left in the game and the Pacers up by 15, what were Artest and Wallace doing on the floor in the first place? That game was already decided, so there was no need for them to even be out there. As for Artest going into the stands, well, that was to be expected, he's a whackjob anyway, so it came as no surprise that he went berserk and charged into the stands.

However, there is NO excuse, NO reason, NO rationalization, absolutely NO justification whatsoever for players going into the stands, regardless of the circumstances. Was that neanderthal wrong for throwing the cup? You betcha! But that doesn't mean players should charge into the stands and start a brawl. As for the knuckleheads who came down onto the court, hey, they're fair game. Remember, there was a child in the middle of that melee, and he could've been trampled. I know this sounds extreme, but what if someone had been seriously injured or, God forbid, killed as a result of what happened. Suddenly that fracas turns into a monumental tragedy.

In my view, Artest, O'Neal, Jackson and Wallace got what they deserved, and the fans who participated in that brawl should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, AND have their tickets immediately revoked. Something like that must NEVER be allowed to happen again!
