I'm confusing about this. Some say to me literally it means 'Thanks for asking' Others say that if some one ask you お元気(げんき)ですか you only need to reply 'Ohayougozaimasu, Okagesamade'
I'm confusing about this. Some say to me literally it means 'Thanks for asking' Others say that if some one ask you おげんきですか you only need to reply 'Ohayougozaimasu, Okagesamade'
お元気(げんき)ですか means "how are you?"
You can answer in various way:
はい、げんきです。 (Yes, I'm fine.)
おかげさまで、げんきです。 (I'm fine, thank you.)
just for example. (Latter is more polite/formal.)
