How to tackle the grammar part of the monbukagakusho exam ?

Though I'm not very bad in English, that part really screws me up. It's extremely hard for me to identify the grammatical errors in the sentence. Is there any strategies for me to master this part ? (Btw, I'm gonna apply for the undergraduate scholarship)

Í might be a little late here, but reading books in English really helps.

There might be times where you will not now why a sentence is technically wrong if you have not studied enough, but it will sound wrong in your head.
