Hey what's up everyone. I already posted something to introduce my self earlier, but I wanted to start my own thread. I live in Utah and am currently going to Weber State University, then I will head to the University of Utah to go into a Pre-Optometry Program. I love Sports and I love to surf. Yeah, I know, I can't surf in Utah but I do surf in Cali and Hawaii whenever I have the chance to do so.

Also if anyone has any good info on Oda Nobunaga then please let me know. Especially about the Crest.

Thanks, Good talking to all of you.

Welcome to the Forum Mitsuo Oda san !! I hope you enjoy yourself here and learn a lot. I live in Matsumoto, Nagano, the area of the Japan Alps !! It's cold !!!

See you 'round !!

Konnichiwa Mitsuo Oda-san!
Welcome and Hajimemashite. Please enjoy the forum!

NANGI

Thanks guys.
Nice to meet all of you.
Mars man you live in Nagano? That's cool. Olympics! Did you ever go?

Good !! You got that, didn't you Mitsuo Oda san !! The '98 olympics were held here. I helped a number of volunteers with their English from as far back as even '89, but I didn't go over the areas where the events mostly had taken place--Nagano city, Shiga Highland, Hakuba area--because I was working during the week, and the weekends were jammed packed with people. Pluse, it was very cold outside. . . a weak point of mine. (not that I can't take it, just I don't like it--and yet here I live in Nagano. . . shows what a woman can do to a man....hee, hee, hee....

That's Cool Mars Man! Yeah, Im sure you've heard of the winter olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was awesome. I wasn't a volunteer or anything but I enjoyed the games. It was sad though about the Ice Skating Scandal, where the canadians should have won the Gold. They found out that the judge from france or something rigged it for his own country to win. Can't remember all of it, all a little hazy. But it was sad such events took place.

Thanks -Rika- Shinya and Nothingness, I look forward to talking to you guys too.

Thanks for the info. I recall something happening about that. You see, the city where I live, Matsumoto, is a sister city with Salt Lake, so there was a group of students who came to home stay here in Matsumoto to promote that of Salt Lake. Our university has a connection with one in the Salt Lake area, and students can go there on an exchange program, or students from there can come here on one.

Talk to you later on !!

Yeah, the college is probably The University of Utah, that's in Salt Lake City. They held a lot of the olympic events at Rice Eccle Stadium. It was an awesome atmosphere. But that's cool, I didn't know about the exchange program between Matsumoto and The Salt Lake College. I have a couple of friends that go to the U of U. They say there are a lot of Japanese or of Asian ethnicity at there school. (I don't know if that is the case though).

Later

Thanks for the info there Mistuo Oda san. I don't think it's the U of U, though; I do recall the word 'valley' in the title--it may be a Junior college even. Do you know of anymore schools in that area? Thanks !!

Oh yeah, I didn't even think of UVSC. Utah Valley State College. My sis went there for a year or two. Wow I didn't think that UVSC was so active in... well anything. I think they are also trying to get a football team and are also trying to become a University.

There's also a Junior College in Salt Lake called West Minster or something. But yeah the school is Utah Valley State College.

Wow, I thought it would be the U of U, since they are more prestigous college in Utah.

Yeah, thanks !! That's it !! Well, Matsumoto is a private institution, and seems to work in different circles. We also have an affiliate school down in Newcastle, Australia, which is also not that big a school. j

But yeah, so if a student at that university wants to come study here, it can be arranged--only Japanese is a must, at the moment. (of course it doesn't have to be perfect Japanese.)

Thanks for that info !! That's great to know !! Catch you later !!

That is Awesome how so many far away places seem to connect, somehow, to each other. Do you think that it's only smaller schools that have this program(Not all of course), but is it just smaller colleges?

Later man!

To be honest, I can only say that I do know that some of the larger universities here do have such affiliate schools, but if that would add up to all, or even most, I simply don't know. We did have one student from here register to go to UVSC last year. I don't know what became of that, since I didn't follow up on it. I'll check it out.

The week after next, I will be a lot less busy, and I will try (note: try) to run down some infor on Oda Nobunaga for you. I can't promise if it will be more than what you may already have, but will see what I can do.

Catch you later on, man, and 'hang ten'!!!

Hey sweet dude! thanks for that info.

Hey thanks for helping me with my Oda Nobunaga research. It will help a lot.

later man, HANG TEN DUDE, KEEP IT GNARLY!

Yeah !! You bet !! (It does look you got a lot of info on that other thread. If I find something that seems to have been missed there, I'll pass it on to you. ) Catch you on the flip side...and any questions or whatever, just toss a PM my way !!! Hang ten dude !! Wooooaaaa......splash !!! that was me.

Dude! that was the biggest wipeout that I have ever seen! Are you alright?

Yeah, I am trying to do some thorough reasearch. So I'm sure I will have many many more question.

Thanks Mars Dude.

Oh, I'm hangin 10 alright! (^_^)

Hey, I have some questions regarding the origins of the Japanese. I heard that they were a mix of Russian, Mongolian, and Chinese. Is that true or am I just hearing it wrong?

Also, with the mon, does the design of the two seperate families combine, to make it their family crest?

Thanks.

How's going there!! Yeah, from what I've heard, it's more like some from the south sea island area, some from the China/mongolian area, and some from some other blend which could be traceable to Russia, maybe, I'm not real sure.

On that latter question, I'm not sure. I always kind of thought that the two were kind of the one and the same things, with just different words to describe them....I'll see if I can check with one of the teachers at school. Catch you on the flip side !!

Sweet dude thanks!

Yeah, I would ask my grandma these things but she doesn't really know anything. She forgets a lot, and is probably losing it.

I never would've thought that Japanese had russian in it. HMM?

My uncle from California had a pic of our crest and he mailed two diff ones. One looked almost exactly like Nobunagas and one just looked like Grape Leaves. So there were two. I don't know which one would be the most modern.

Thanks Mars Man,

Now I gotta go catch some waves and make some women bow before me. hahaha. Later!
