Good day everyone.

I'm posting in order to see if anyone knows where I would look for to find year housing for a family of 5 or so for a study grant trip to Japan in Tokyo. There was proposed housing, but it did not go through.

Where would I even begin to look on this sort of thing? Does anyone know? There are only a couple months left right now, so things are a bit panicky due to the other plan not working.

Thank you.

There are many monthly "mansions" for shorter stay. The listings I found in TYO metro areas go from at least JPY 100,000 per month. I am now living in one of those mansions in Shinagawa until the end of this month when I move in a place in the Chofu areas as my primary residence. The short term mansion comes with the basic amenity for the normal daily living (refrigerator, microwave, washer, air conditioner, mail box, and etc). It is very convenient as a way to set up a living while you are looking for a longer term residence.
Typically, if you rent more than 3 months, the montly rate can go down.

Who is providing this study grant? Can't THEY do something to help you with housing?

Thank you for the links. This is at least an option.

The original situation was that they would receive housing but something fell through and they lost their spot somehow. I'm not sure on the specifics, and right now I'm just trying to check on options open to them. The temporary housing might prove very good for at least a month.
