yeah ofcourse... where else would it be released.... you should be able to get it like at the mall or something... maybe even walmart lol hahah.....but its been delayed hekka times so hopefully it will be released in 2004...and watch out for my friend teo on track 3 and 5

I'm affraid this album will just be full of re-arranged versions of songs from her three Japanese albums.

Since it's aimed at the American market, it probably means it's not going to be that good. Americans like their music stripped of anything that remotely resembles the concept of melody. Well, most of the time anyway.

Her collaboration with Foxy Brown might be on this album. Anybody heard this song? It was on the Rush Hour 2 soundtrack, titled "Blow my whistle".
 
yeah I love that song lol it would almost make it worth buying a re-arranged album ^__^:;; plus it'll be cool to hear her in english all the way.. btw I bet there will be bonus tracks on the cd of some original japnese versions and we'll have already heard that =|
 
her album is different than what she usually does... her japanese songs arent on there... theyre all new.... and rush hour2 of course isnt gonna be on it.... her album is new songs... cuz well toshiba emi wouldnt allow them to turn her old songs into new ones it defjam right which ithought.... but she does have new songs... and its r&b sort of rock based but way different than any of her past albums or music style.....
 
2nd american debut

i think defjam already tryed to debut her when the rush hour 2 soundtrack came out...they made a video and everything for that song she had with foxy brown and i saw it on mtv a few years back...however since hikki wasn't even in the friggen video and i despise foxy i didnt like it and many other people didn't as well...hopefully they can give her a solo debut with a competant producer so that people here in america can judge her based on her skills alone...not tag her up with some semi famous rap person agian so that she can sing the chours...

I can't wait for her debut her, but I hope she doesn't turn into a something like most American female singers. I think she has way too much talent and class to act like Spears or Aquilera.
 
I'm really looking forward to her English album! That way i could actually understand what she's trying to say. Though, I love her Japanese songs too. My favourite Utada song is 'play ball'. :sing:
 
the only hikaru's english song ive ever heard what First Love in English..it was pretty good so cant wait for her new album coming out...

by the way, rumors said shes quiting soon and gonna be in neuroscience..heard of it?
 
Eve, Hikki doesn't sing First Love English version. I can't remember who does it but it's a cover. I've also heard that she's gonna quit singing soon. *sigh*

I'm not too excited about her English debut..

I listen to J-Pop because it has a distinct Japanese flavour to it, I dont really wanna hear J-Pop artists trying to be American...
 
I think it's supposed to come out in May 2004, right? I can't wait!! ^-^

I don't see why it would be different than her usual music, just in English, I guess. Japanese and American music isn't all that different.
 
Well, I really hope that Utada Hikaru does well here in the U.S. I heard some of her earlier English stuff from the album called Precious & she was called CUBIC U then, the songs on there were so-so..
 
Gaki...she is american...but she moved back to japan then back again for university and hten back to japan again

Aww, too bad she's not having a concert here in Cali.. Hopefully when she debuts, she'll have a concert here..

hikki has a new single coming out soon! and yes it's in Japanese.... its for a new movie that is directed by her hubby and her song is the theme song....... its out in 2004🙂
