Wow nice pic! ^-^... I love the hair!

I don't think I'd ever get homesick in Asia... I mean my second home is there and I go out as many times as possible a year. GuitarAddict wow I'd definately recomend goin to asia for a year. It'll be awesome! Tusk is from Zi-Kill isn't he?... I may be imagining that but I'm sure he is.

Nan Desu Ka You have a Jap music store 10 mins from your house!?! I am so jealous... and also for some reason love your screne name!! Possibly because its one of my token Japanese phrases!

and yeah, it's pretty cool, they get in all the latest music, it usually only take a couple days too, all japanese music releases on wednesdays so they'll usually have the newest stuff by saturday and they also have magazines like Shoxx, Fool's Mate, Cure, and Arena 37c plus they carry pretty much every japanese manga out there as well as english versions and some various books and anime. It's pretty awesome. It's called Kinokuniya.

That whole eyeball scene- that was totally weird and yes it will never leave my mind ever! It actually is the first thing I think of when I think of Seth and Holth. I thought it would be the beginning with those gross worms *shudder*

Tusk...I read from somewhere what band he was in or is in...I think CharismaticDeath is right though. He is pretty mysterious and isn't quite as near as famous as hide was. I would like to know more about him though...

Today Japanese newspaper Sponichi broke the news that after nearly ten years since X Japan's New Year's break-up concert and nine years since the death of influential lead guitarist hide, X Japan will officially be reforming with a new tour and single scheduled to come within the year.

The article states that founder Yoshiki summoned former vocalist Toshi to Los Angeles to work on a hide-tribute track titled "Without You" (originally released instrumentally on Yoshiki's first album) during November 2006. After an emotional recording session the two felt that "the puzzle pieces just fit," and decided to officially reunite the band.

Yoshiki is said to be in talks with guitarist Pata and bassist Heath regarding the reunion, with hopes to feature the band lineup circa the band's final performance. While nothing has been set in stone, the tentative touring lineup is Yoshiki, Toshi, Pata, Heath, and roughly 10 guest guitarists who will perform hide's parts during various songs in the set.

Current information indicates that X Japan's tour will begin near Yoshiki's home of Los Angeles, with the Toshi-sung single release of "Without You" due sometime this year.

Regarding the reunion, Yoshiki stated the following: "After hide's death most fans were split between two extreme opinions, either 'you reunite and I'll kill you' or 'if you don't reunite I'll die.' I had trouble making the decision and for a while I wasn't able to move forward. This reunion is actually a first for me as well."
 
Awww I can't wait to hear that song.

I really hope they can deal with it. They were heartbroken during Last Live... I really don't want a repeat performance of that. But at the same time I would love to hear them again. I'm torn between Yoshiki's extremes of the fans... half of me really wants them to reunite and the other half is just worried about how painful it will be for them.

On our topic of Tusk, I'm pretty sure I am right...

I agree about the eyeball scene... I don't like things involving eyes! Although in Seth et Holth I was far more creeped out by the big talkin vagina they appeared to be living in.... that imagary gave one of my friends nightmares and the other a siezure... and put everyone off the possibly idea of becomin a lesbian!!
 
CharismaticDeath No kidding! It's definitely creepy although I can see why they would maybe have it. I mean all the images and stuff were really out there and very deep.
You have to think to watch this movie you can't sit back, relax, you have to keep your eyes glued to the screen. Definitely not a 'kids movie' as they say...
I'm sorta thinking I didn't see it all...I think I missed the ending. Like it I had to watch it on Youtube (Anyone know a better site to watch it on??) and it ended with hide and Tusk getting their faces grabbed by that "thing" (sorry can't remember what it is called...) and then they are being dragged back into the womb. Then it ended.


Unfortunately I think that is all we will ever know about Tusk. There is like nothing on him...

Nan Desu Ka Thank you! That was very interesting. Honestly I mean it is very divided but I don't believe anyone who was an X Japan fan will not be intrigued. I mean you remember your favorite band right and then they broke up and they finally come back in your early twenties? You want them to, but you don't.
Too many good memories of them in their glory day which might be shattered by their return.I think most fall in between the extremes because of curiosity. You want those memories again but it is never the same.

Agree on it is going to be very sad. I hardly doubt no tears will fall.

It is so weird how Yoshiki is moving so fast with his career...Skin and X Japan reunion...It's like he has somehow managed to "forgive" himself. He really was hard on himself when hide died.
My friend showed me a interview that he did after hide's death and he just threw the blame on himself, it was so sad.
He said that he wished he never had asked hide to be part of X and then maybe he would still be alive today. He also sorta blamed Toshi leaving X on himself too. Maybe it was because he was the leader of X and all these tragedies happened so fast.

I would love to go see this reunion! I just really wish hide would be there, I just think I will NEVER EVER see him live. That is what is the greatest tragedy. People like me and probably most of you will never see hide play guitar/sing infront of us unless it is on the computer,tv, etc. Its so weird sometimes to think how all of us discuss a man who we never knew, but who we still love and care about. Boogles the mind that kind of power....


I am happy they have chosen 10 guest guitarist, I wonder who they will be?
I hope one is Kaoru.
 
From what I remember the film ends after they go back to the womb. I can't really remember though, it's been a while since I saw it.

Which version did you watch on youtube? I know there's one that puts it all as one file (but has terrible quailty) and another in parts... with considerably better quality.

I agree it's crazy to be so attatched to someone we never knew about when he was alive. But it's not that uncommon I don't think. I have a friend who is very attatched to Cliff Burton (second Metallica basist) who died before she was even born.

I wouldn't be at all supprised if they got Kaoru to play. Yoshiki loves Diru.

I saw the one which was cut into parts. I was just reading somewhere that explained a different ending where Holth gets angry or something. Then from his negative energy he turns the womb into stone and it crumbles into nothingness. I could probably find the site again that said that. It also said they were sent to earth to heal Holths eye not because they questioned their maker/creation/other worlds.

I hope hide meant something to the guitarists they get. I wouldn't want someone playing his stuff just cause he is a good guitarist, you know?
That is why I want Kaoru cause hide was his hero and he meant so much to Kaoru. He carries his hide plushie with him everything (At least I think he still does), he started playing guitar cause of hide (I am sure I read that somewhere) and he mentioned that hide-sama's signature was one of his top three most important things.
Could you imagine getting hides signature? Apparently Kaoru wrote to hide and hide wrote back, which I think says a lot about hide. <333
 
To be honest I would say hide means quite a lot to pretty much every guitarist in Japan!! I can't imagine any one not being overawed by the chance to play his part in X. Gods it really would be a dream come true!!

Having hide's signature certainly would be something to treasure for ever.

I never really thought about the eye thing in Seth et Holth... I don't exactly understand why it wouldn't heal any way... I thought they weren't sent but that Holth was bored with life within the womb so left to go to the outside world (a sin) and Seth followed to try and get him to go back. On the Earth they saw that it was a far more corrupt place and so pretty much went back of their own free will.

I would love to go to all of it! Yes the greed, lol! Probably in the beginning of X, just when hide joined it. Or in the middle of the X Japan wave when they were the big thing. Or the last Live. Or even better, before he died and then we could stop him from drinking that night and yeah.
As for the pictures- Gorgeous and his smile is just phenomenal!! It totally melts me and that hair!! *Touches hides crazy hair-Oh la la la!* So pretty and I wish I could do my hair like that!


Nan Desu Ka I actually just found out hide discovered Luna Sea. A friend told me and I was like really? Cool! I love how Sugizo is part of S.K.I.N. and I also noticed that Miyavi is often compared to hide...Maybe I am wrong...I just read somewhere that people often compare Meevers to hide fashion wise or something... Yeah...

CharismaticDeath True true. Anyone Japanese guitarist who isn't inspired by him is either ignorant or is living under a rock. It would be like going to heaven to just stand there and play his part. I would 'kill' myself if I messed it up. I couldn't even imagine...It just blows my mind away honestly. I would be a nervous wreck...

Kikyos_Souls I agree the pressure that they must feel playin hide's part will be imense! I suppose it's like doin crazy stuff like bunjee jumping... crazy... scares you shitless but at the same time totally awesome! (not that I'd want to do it... but I guess thats the reasoning!!)

I think Meeves did aget a lot of his style from hide... he is a fan. But if you watch some of his vids and see some of his outfits the resembelence is striking.

Humm that interpritation of Seth et Holth is interesting. I guess, like all mythology, there will be so many versions of it flying around that it will never be certain which is the intended one. "communicate by blood, which makes some kind of kinky impression for many people." .. ::admits to being guilty of that one:: ^_^


We are uber hide fans!! ^_^ go us! I also like the way that it's one of the most active threads in the male artists section! The awesomness of hide will never die.

I actually recorded that movie years ago (in a very disgusting spanish translation, you should listen to hide's spanish voice saying "toca" XD) and it really sucks; there's nothing interesting on it, well, maybe a few Harajuku shots and some killer background songs (like 5-10 seconds...) and of course, X cameo.

If you find hide's CD very expensive, you should try to get his Saber Tiger 7'', be prepared to pay $250 for it, if you find it, of course

It's so quit here...... hey I know something there must be people here who love playing Hide's parts on guitar , post recordings of you playing here vid or just audio I'm curious to how others play... or sing ... or cosplay....

Trust me the hair is a nightmare! I did it last week... and my hair has never been such a damn mess in my life... it's still slightly pink!

I do have a couple of pictures somewhere... my friend was the one with the camera! It was an insane night... the theme was musicians. So we had, Niki Sixx, Cliff Burton, Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustane, Siouxsie Sioux, Amanda Palmer and hide... goin to Tesco was fun!!
