こんにちわ!

この でんごん は わたし の だいいち これ です。

わたし わ かく が しらない です。 わたし の なまえ は JOE です そして わたし
わ にほんご が べんきょう する。

Please excuse my grammatical errors, I'm not very experienced. Just looking to maybe have a simple conversation in Japanese 🙇

Hey,
Not bad for a start.
May I correct your sentences a little bit.

わたし わ かく が しらない です。
わたし は かく こと が しらない。OR しりません。
I assume you want to say that you cannot write very well. KAKU is the verb meaning TO WRITE. And KAKU KOTO means the action of writing. Never use DESU after the negative form.

わたし の なまえ は JOE です
Tha's perfectly fine.

そして わたしわ にほんご が べんきょう する。
そして わたしは にほんご を べんきょう して います。
If you are a beginner, no need for you to worry about the particles. You will learn in due course. SHITE IMASU is just showing a continuing action. SHITE is the TE form of SURU.

Hope that helps.

:note:

Kalyaniさんも とても じょうずな にほんご です。 いっかしょ だけ ちいさな まちがい を みつけたので かきます。

「わたし わ かく が しらない です」
「わたし は かく こと しらない。OR しりません」

このばあい、「わたし は かく こと しらない。OR しりません」が いいです。もうすこし むつかしい いいかた では「わたし は かきかた を しらない。OR しりません」です。:note:

がんばって にほんごを べんきょう してください。

Hi StorDuff-san, your Japanese is very good! There are a small errors, but I can understand your Japanese perfectly.;)
Please don't be afraid of a failure and write Japanese again. Communicate with foreigner is the best way to learn a foreign language!:note:
And I correct your sentences a little bit too.

「この でんごん は わたし の だいいち これ です」
「この でんごん は わたし の さいしょ の でんごん です」

"だいいち" and "さいしょは" are the same meaning. But "さいしょ" is more natural in this case.:note:

Hi Kalyani, your Japanese is very good too! I find error only one passage but it is very small.

「わたし わ かく が しらない です」
「わたし は かく こと しらない。OR しりません」

In this case,「わたし は かく こと しらない。OR しりません」is more natural. And 「わたし は かきかた を しらない。OR しりません」is the best expression.:note:

Please learn Japanese continuously and good luck!

NANGI

ありがと。

にほんご てがみ は むずかしい です。 Konpyuuta かな は ちいさい です!:p

わたし は Konpyuuta かたかな が しらない。

(I do not know how to type katakana on my computer, only kanji and hiragana)

kalyani: I meant to say that "I don't know what to say" but didn't know how to word it.

こんにちわ StorDuffさん!

そうですね、わたしも にほんご の てがみ は むつかしい と おもいます。でも、StorDuffさん の にほんご は じょうず です。すごい です!

わたし は Konpyuuta かたかな が しらない。(I do not know how to type katakana on my computer, only kanji and hiragana)

かたかな が かけない ですか? どうして でしょうね??

「I do not know how to type katakana on my computer, only kanji and hiragana」は、にほんごで「わたしは コンピューター の カタカナ の かきかた を しらない。かんじ と ひらがな だけ です。」に なります。
「how to」は にほんご で「...のしかた」、または「...のやりかた」に なります。

そして、「I don't know what to say」は「わたし は なん と いえ ば いい の か わからない」です。もちろん「わたし は かきかた を しらない。OR しりません」でも いいです よ。👋

Yes, I think so too, Japanese letter is difficult. But your Japanese is very good. Great!

わたし は Konpyuuta かたかな が しらない。(I do not know how to type katakana on my computer, only kanji and hiragana)

You don't know? Ummm... I don't know too.:p

「I do not know how to type katakana on my computer, only kanji and hiragana」is「わたしは コンピューター の カタカナ の かきかた を しらない。かんじ と ひらがな だけ です。」in Japanese.
「how to ...」is「...のしかた」or「...のやりかた」in Japanese.
And「I don't know what to say」is「わたし は なん と いえ ば いい の か わからない」. Of course「わたし は かきかた を しらない。OR しりません」is right too.👋

I have problems reading Japanese because the letters are so small. I should increase font or print off these pages :)

Hi Storduff,

Regarding how to enter Katakana, I might be able to help you if you tell me what kind of a software are you using for Japanese. Also, which Operating System do you have?
