Hi! I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm PinkCow, and I live in the state of Tennessee in the United States. I'm a 17-year-old girl in my senior year of high school. Next year, I plan to go to college and major in elementary education. I have been interested in Japan since I was about eight years old. Someday I hope to learn to speak Japanese, and to get a degree in teaching English as a second language. I like anime, manga, and Japanese music, as well as Japanese food and snacks. I am always trying to learn more about Japan! Nice to meet everyone!

Hello PinkCow!

Welcome to JRef!! Have fun here ok? ;-) We are a big bunch of Japan-maniacs!

Keep posting and stay active!

Young Ladies Especially Welcome !!

Hope you enjoy your time on the Forum. Keep an eye on the chat room evenings, you might meet some nice people. I promise not to tell any hillbilly jokes!

Welcome to the fora, PinkCow! Are you planning on going to Vanderbilt? UTenn? or perhaps somewhere out of state? I was just reminded of the "The Simpsons" episode where Bart, Milhouse, Nelson, and Martin all go to Tennessee for the World's Fair, but find out that they're twenty years too late. The sign at the state line said, "Tennesseein' is Tennebelievin'." I thought that was hilarious. Anyway, enjoy your stay! 🙂🎈

Welcome to the (ahem) forums!! Have fun and use lots of smilies! :p 👍 :-)

Oh dear, I should've prepared myself for the Tennessee jokes. You'd think I'd expect them by now. *lol* I don't mind them. :-) We are all a bunch of hillbillies anyhow. The town I live in is, in fact, known for its moonshine.

Glenn, I did look into Vanderbilt, but in the end, I've decided to go to Murray State University in Kentucky, since they still offer Japanese. Have you heard of it?

And because this is the greatest smiley ever: 🕺

Thank you all for the nice welcomes!! 🙂

I haven't heard of it. Vanderbilt and Tennessee don't offer Japanese? Well, I guess it's not all that surprising. LSU doesn't offer anything beyond second year Japanese.

I didn't mean to make fun of Tennessee, by the way. I know that not everyone there is a hillbilly, especially since I have family there, and know some people from there.

Uh, what's that supposed to mean?

Oh, I really don't mind it when people -do- make fun of Tennessee. I'll talk bad about this state too. Nah, not everyone from TN is a hillbilly, but everyone from the area I live in is. ^^;; But then I live in one of the... less enjoyable areas, anyhow. But no, I wasn't insulted or anything.

Y'all.

Hajimemashite PinkCow-san!
