I am not familiar with the Japan transit system, and I was hoping for some insight from people living in Japan if this program is worth using while over there.

Métro

The program works good. Except that it doesn't include the actual time schedule of the trains (at least in the version I used a couple of years ago). It just shows you the best connection, which is often all you want to know.

For finding routes and schedules online:
http://www.hyperdia.com/cgi-english/hyperWeb.cgi

That site will be good as long as I am by a Wi-Fi hotspot, since my PDA is just by Wi-Fi. But its good to know about the program I found. That will really help out in a fix. Thanks

this site is all you need
input your originating train station, and your destination
then it maps out several ways to achieve your goal with different lengths of trips, cost, and express options as well.

I just used a paper map - you don't need times unless you HAVE to be somewhere, in which case spending a few minutes looking at a site like hyperdia is all you need.

wlel, its good to nkow time tables to schedule lunch, and if you want to stop somewhere along the way, so your not at the train station, just missing the next train and waiting 20 minutes for the next..... (has happend a few times to me)

Thanks, I just want to make sure I know where I am going and how to get there. I will try out that website you listed as well and see how it works.

it works flawlessely

just follow the times for hte trains it has, and it will get you where you need to go
i use it every weekend i go play airsoft.
