Help to find a cheap place in Tokyo

Hey, as a part of my education I'm taking a three month stay in Japan to do some empirical research. My University unfortunately cannot be to any assistance regarding finding a place to live during my stay. Therefore I'm asking if you have any suggestion or can recommend something. I'm a student so I don't need some fancy apartment. Just as cheap as possible

I have searched the Net and found many sites that offer different types of housing. But it would be nice if you had some personal experience about finding a place to stay in Tokyo. It's a lot of money so it would be nice to know that I'm spending them right.
I'm also thinking about sharing an apartment with some other person/student as a possibility. But again that is not easy to arrange when you don't know any people in Japan.

But please write any suggestions you think could be useful for my little project.

A rent is 39,000 yen for one month.

I had not used them.
I lived in Kanto for 16 years,
I think that I can advise you about Tokyo.
What university do you go to?

I had a good experience with Sakura House. Their guest houses are nice, everyone gets their own bedroom with a common kitchen/living area, and not as expensive as your own apartment. You're best off having them show you places so you can make an informed decision about the place. I got a place without looking at it, and it turned out to be too close to a train station (I had to wear earplugs to sleep). But they have a lot of places all over the city, so you can easily find something convenient to where you want to be that works for you.

Thugh this isn't a part of your question, if you need a cheap travelling company go to www.japanspecialisten.dk where you can find cheap companies, cheap places to go (you're not gonna study all the time ) and etc. for us Danes.
