Help locating family

I am trying to locate my wifes birth mother or family. She was born in Fukuoka in 1954 and her family name was either Kawatatsu or Kawariyu. Her mothers name was Sumako. If anyone knows of that family name in the Fukuoka City area, please contact me with information. We will be traveling to Japan this year and would like to arrange a contact if the family is interested.

Your best bet is to have your wife contact the city office in the city where her mother resides. She will need to provide a little info, such as her mother's name and date of birth, before the people there provide any contact information.

I need to correct the information from my first post.
My wifes mothers name is Sumako Kawatatsu, she was born in 1935 in Setaka machi, she lived in Mitsuhashi machi.
My wife was born in 1954 in Shime machi, lived in Matsuhashi machi and adopted by the Anderson family in 1957.
My wifes grandmothers maiden name was Sata Tanaka.
My wife grandfathers name was Yakichi Kawatatsu, he died prior to 1957.
My wifes original name was Chisato Kawatatsu.

Any help in locating members of the Kawatatsu family would be appreciated.
