Hello! This is my first time posting on a forum. My name is Ricky and I live in Nevada. I had my wisdom teeth pulled the other day so my mouth hurts really bad. When I made an account for a game I play it said the username I chose was already taken so it suggested ricky1269 and now I use that name for almost everything. I used to take a Japanese class in school, but now I'm homeschooled. I don't remember a lot from the class but I am still interested in learning Japanese so last week I started using the same textbook I used in school. I'm not sure how to teach myself a new language, so please let me know if you have any tips I could use for teaching myself Japanese. I would like to meet some new friends on here so I will try my best to be active.

Hello Ricky1269,

Memorize hiragana and katakana and then go from there. People often recommend the Genki textbook series here, so that would also be a good initial step.
