Well, I've been on a few forums about Japan already. But this one seems to be the only one where you can have a decent discussion and conversation.
I'm Indonesian, born and raised in the Netherlands. I have a great interest in Asian cultures, but the Japanese culture has attracted me the most.
I'll be visiting Japan this Summer, my girlfriend will guide me around. She's from Sendai.
Although I've learned some things from her about the Japanese culture, I hope to get some good information from this place as well...and have a good time here too!!

You're going to Japan, awesome. Make sure you learn Japanese, it's super easy! （実を言うと、世界で二番難しい言語だと思います...）

I see there's some Dutch in you. (^_^)
I've learned most from Japanese movies, dorama and music. And my girlfriend has taught me a few things as well, including some really bad and dirty stuff.
Hehehe
I guess I'll let her do most of the talking, when I'm in Japan. I'll just listen well, and learn from her conversation with other people.
But you're right, Japanese is easy to learn. Although I need some time for learning the characters...

actually I only know a few words of dutch ^^

I started learning it a few years ago but ditched it pretty quick...sorry dutch.
Did the same with Afrikaans (just a rip off of dutch basically); they're just not that interesting to me.

Well...in brackets I said "to tell you the truth, I think Japanese is the second hardest language in the world", kinda mean, soorry~ Of course you could just learn Korean, it's "the easy asian language" if you ask me...sorry to all of those who notice my "korean is the greatest" attitude, Japanese is still 10 times better

Get your girlfriend to teach you stuff, that'd be cool.
