Hey people. Please don't let my name put you off, I am not a Fatal Frame obsessive... much. I became interested in Japanese Culture when I played Fatal Frame and wanted to research if Himuro Mansion was real. I know I am a bit naive, but I did exactly the same thing with Beast House in the Richard Laymon trilogy of the same name. I found information about Shinto Religion and it fascinated me. I have always had a hidden fascination for Japanese Culture but, not having experienced much of it in my time, never acted upon it. I'd love to learn more, so... here I am!

Thanks for the warm welcome I received so quickly! I am glad nobody shunned me as another stupid Fatal Frame obsessive. I'll be sticking on this forum for a while...especially in my free periods at College. haha.
I won't hide my fascination any longer. I just felt inadequate because everybody knows so much more than me about it. Now that I found this forum, I can learn!

Fatal Frame is an awesomely disturbing Video Game that I am not even old enough to play. Haha. I don't know what it was called in America... probably Fatal Frame... but over here in England it was actually called Project Zero. And thanks for the welcome.

I think I might be able to tell you generally what Fatal Frame is. I read a walkthrough in a magezine.

Fatal Frame, known as Project Zero in Europe and Zero (窶氾ｫ, Rei?, this is a pun; "rei" can also mean "ghost") in Japan, is a survival horror series, so far consisting of three games. The first and second games in the series were released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The third game is currently only available for the PlayStation 2. The series deals with exorcism, dark Shinto rituals, and above all, ghosts.

Created by Tecmo, Fatal Frame is one of the most well received survival horror games to date, largely due to the atmospheric music, dark and claustrophobic environments, emphasis on aesthetics and art design and the variety of spirits encountered during the course of the game. The main object of the game is to solve a mystery which is linked to old Japanese superstitions. The player's main enemies are ghosts; a few are friendly, but most are not. The only form of defense is a camera obscura, which allows the player to exorcise ghosts by taking a picture of them and thus, sealing their spirit in the film.

It isn't bad at all. It is amazingly creepy... and some of the ghosts annoy me. I dread the drum beat of Broken Neck and the horrifying screams of the Blinded. Each ghost has its own theme!!! Haha.

Yeah, it is. It is an awesome game. Typical Japanese game with a school girl in a mini-skirt. Completely unrealistic bit it is still awesome.
