Hello... I'm New...

The other forum that I frequent strongly discourages introductory threads... but it seems that this forum does not, so here I go!

I have lived in America all my life... I am going to Japan, but not for another three years. I plan to learn Japanese before then... I already know Hiragana, Katakana, and some basic grammar, but I know very few words and very few Kanji... I hope this forum can help me change that...
