My name is Jan and I work at Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford Illinois. The garden was founded by John Anderson, a local manufacturer, who has a strong interest in the Japanese culture.It has just been ranked the number one Japanese Garden in North America by the Roth Journal of Japanese Gardens.

I have visited Japan four times over a period of eighteen years and have an appreciation of all things Japanese, especially the landscape architecture. I just discovered this site today while doing research on the Shugendo religion.
I'm not sure what to expect from this forum, but I'm willing to give it a try.
