Dear native English speakers,

Which sentences would be used? I think "learnt" would be used in the U.K.
(a) He made it the way he had learned/learnt.
(b) He made it in the way he had learned/learnt.
(c) He made it as he had learned/learnt.
(d) He made it as the way he had learned/learnt.

Thanks in advance.
Hirashin

a - ok
b - ok
c - sounds a little unusual, but ok
d - wrong

Although, many people would actually end with "... learned to".

What do you mean? Is it that you don't live in the same place for a long time?

All sound ok except (d). For that one I might say "He made it the same way he had learned."

Mdchachi, thanks for the help. Do you think you don't have to put "to" at the end?

To stick with your word choice, I think I would say:

He made it the way that he had learned to make it.
He did it the way that he had learned to do it.

Consider switching "learned" to "taught":

He made it the way he was taught.
He made it the way he had been taught.
