Having a little trouble translating this...

今はほりられないみたいだ

I'm guessing that you took this from this video game:
窓の杜 - 【週末ゲーム】第127回:痛快パズルアクション「ほりる」

If so, then the source of your trouble likely comes from trying to "de-conjugate" the verb "horirarenai".

It's the negative ("-nai") form of the potential ("-rareru") tacked onto the verb "horiru".

As far as I can tell (which ain't far, to be truthful), there is no such word. They've invented a verb to describe the action taken in the game.

Maybe that thing that looks like a ほ is a really blurred version of 降 (I would say it's a ほ if it wasn`t for those spiky things at the upper left corner)? It would make more sense...

The curvature at the top of the left side rules that out.

The top? I guess you meant the bottom, right?
Well, guess I was wrong then.

No, I meant the top. It's pretty clearly ほ

Maybe xillshetx can tell us where he got this image from? Looking at the file name it seems quite clear that it's from Kingdom Hearts 2 not ほりる, but I can't be sure.

I'm not familiar at all with video games. The only reason I came up with the Horiru thing was because it of google search returns for "ほりる".

How about this one. I'm trying to translate for a friend but he can't seem to send me any quality pics. Thanks though...

I'll try not to screw up this time...
次の目的
港に様子を見に行こう!(I'm not so sure about 港 and 様, so maybe my translation is totally wrong)
Next objective
Let's go to the harbour see how things are!

How about first reading the thread and then addressing some of the questions raised by those who are trying to help you and then throwing more crap at us? That would help us not to notice that you take it for granted that people should "help you" (actually: "do it for you").

Mikecash, if I were to get a japanese video game, how would you suggest an easy way to look up the kanji?

I look for the base form first, right? The radical.

Looks like it's a rather straightforward. It uses "ni" which indicates direction. That'sl ike, the only usage of "ni" i do know.

also looks like they used "iki" or "iko" which means "to go"

I would recommend that you leave Japanese video games alone, quit worrying about how to look up kanji, and in general slow down and take a deep breath.
