Thank you all for your fine wishes and especially to those who sent me PM's. It sure makes a "geezer" (man I can't believe I am now in that catagory!) feel good. I not only had a fine day I had a fine weekend. My lovely wife made the entire weekend a special one by making and serving many of my favorite Japanese foods and dishes complete with snacks like edamame and dried squid, sake, whisky & water, Asahi beer, etc. It was one to remember.

Yes it is anjusan, and that they are. I have been surfing the internet for over 13 years now and have belonged to quite a few large forums and I still say this is the best forum I have ever had the pleasure of joining and staying. A place where the people are courteous and friendly and a place where people can discuss many subjects in a mature way without being flamed or insulted into oblivion. Plus we all have that one thread in common that binds us all together - an interest in Japan and all things Japanese.

Now that is a little scary to me as I've never had any children of my own. And if I did I would hope they would be as intelligent as yourself who could converse on any subject. You have really made me think and to view life from a different viewpoint.

Funny thing is I do not at all feel 51. My mind still feels as young as it did 10, 20, 30 or even 40 yrs ago. Luckily my body has not begun to fail me yet.
I forget who said this, but some famous philospher once said that life is like the sun or a star. When it is rising you cannot see the horizon or the end. Life seems like it will go on forever. Then when you reach the zenith, you begin to see the horizon and realize that life does not go on forever. That there is an end and that it will eventually come and that your life will eventually "set" and fall below the horizon. Hopefully to re-live life "the next day" and the process begins all over again. It sure makes one reflect and think.
