Around 23 years ago the internet gave birth to a wonderful forum called JREF. Thomas was the proud father and Japan the mother. Over the years , thousands of members have come to visit and hopefully left feeling good and informed about something they saw here. A big thank you to Thomas for keeping JREF healthy and well informed on the latest events in Japan.

We have used jref.com since 2002, but before that—starting in 1999—we hosted "Japan Reference" on three other domains, one of which was japanreference.com. It's been a journey of over a quarter century.
