I'm in doubt at the moment because I dunno whether there is a standard was of hand write in japanese. I'm asking this because I dunno if I'm writing the letters correctly. I have attached a pic that consists of AIUEO and KA KE KI KU KO (the ones I've learned so far and wrote on a little whiteboard while trying to learn them) and could you please people tell me whether I'm writing them right or wrong? thanks!

It looks mostly ok. I'd make the right side of your "i" kana a bit longer, and add the hook on the end of the left. The "ki" kana isn't supposed to connect the straight part to the part that's round. The "ke" kana usually has a hook on the bottom of the left side.

I'm pretty confused on the way of writting KI.. since in the windows IME shows KI as 窶堋ｫ.

Well, that's the way it comes up in print and on computers. Handwritten ki should look like it does here.

How do you learn the kana? what methods do you use? what I do is try to memorise it and start writting it out on a piece of paper a couple of times a day and write them down on my notepad till i remember..

I took classes in college. The best way to learn them is to try to write words, not just the chart over and over again. I'd say grab some random japanese words, even if you don't know what they mean, and practice recalling the kana while reading the romaji.

Click on the lessons and you will be given a kana, then you have to select the right one. It will give you how many you have done wrong etc.

You were able to write it very beautifully.
I think that it can be written beautifully that KANA writes to vertical writing.
Because I write it below from the top, KANA is easy to write a writing from top to bottom

Your "I" looks like a backwards "RI", so you might want to make both sides more or less the same length (short). Other than that, you did a great job!
