Hakone Hiking

Hello!
My another topic is about Hakone area. The basic route is the one I've read about in older topics: get to Odawara, buy the Hakone pass for 2 days, get to Gora-Sounzan - Owakudani-Togendai - Hakone-machi - and then finish at Ogawara or Yugawara.

The questions:
1) Are there any good maps for some serious hiking around the lake and the Kamiyama + Komagatake? (I did google it, at least in English)
2) Any recommendations for not-your-usual-tourist-hike, but something really challenging for a day? and based on this - recommendation where to stay: Togendai/Hakone-machi/other? Preferably - hostels and other social places.

Simon, I'm sure you can find more detailed maps in book stores. If you're looking for an extra challege, avoid the funiculars and HIKE!

And if you like Japanese castles and pass through Odawara stop at Odawara Castle.

I looked for a hiking course of Hakone.
However, the English detailed map was not found.
