Hakodate - what to do?

Hi there, just got my NOVA placement in hakodate, hokkaido . i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for cool things to do in the city. is it as sleepy as it sounds? i chose hokkaido because of the potential for hiking, camping, soaking up the scenery etc etc but want to hear of any cool drinking holes, backstreet bars or just cool places to meet 20 something people. ive done the usual trawl through lonely planet, this site and come up blank. any advice would be appreciated

im going to live in kobe next year, but i would love to go to hokaido ... sounds beautifull especialy the nature

1. HIGASI-OOMUMA campground
