Hello, thought I would introduce myself, since that seems to be the first place to start, if people still read these things... I've been studying Japanse off and on for the past 5 years. I'll skip the "I love Japan" bit, because you can figure maybe I do because I'm here, I bought my first Mangajin about 10 years aog...

I'm at the stage where conversational Japanese is begining to 'click' with me, and sometimes I dream in Japanese... I'm also in a Benkyou stage right now, and I'm studying all the time.

Anyways, I've read a few posts and look forward to soaking up some of the veteran knowlege around here.

Ja!

Welcome and have fun. Look forward to reading some of your thoughts :-) 🙂

Thanks for the great welcomes and responses... I already feel at home. I'll be on my best behaviour, I'm a good kid, despite what the courts say! ;_o

Yeah, literally it means "it's the first time," but more naturally it means "nice to meet you."

👏 Hi, Yukio_neko^o,glad to have you.
Yes, people do read these things, actually more people read more of other people's posts than write their own.
I would say with a ratio of 10 reads per 1 write in the case of an easier-to-respond kind of post, and 20 reads per 1 write or more for a more difficult-to-respond kind of post.
Of course some of the reads are screened depending on the individual's interest, but when someone reads, I think they pay good attention.
Besides, some people can choose to skim read some of the trickier posts, which gives the option of dialogue that can surpass equal time talks.

Good point; I appreciate the different flavor you bring to the members' intro section, and also your interesting word Mangajin. That must be a cross between the Japanese mag + zine, Ja ? X_X 👏

Good. I'm a good kid, too, unless surrounded by unfriendlies. I actually found out the courts could be quite friendly, too, even after all the cursing and acting up in front of the judge. The orderly had to tip me off, *Pst* "You don't want to project the image of a problem kid !" 👏
