In a separate ranking, Gunma topped the responses from participants in relocation seminars and consultation meetings for the second year in a row, followed by Fukushima Prefecture in second place and Hiroshima Prefecture in third. According to age group, Gunma ranked first among those in their 20s and younger as well as people in their 30s, 40s and 50s; second among those in their 60s; and third among those in their 70s. Gunma's ranking in the former survey has gradually risen over the years. It placed 10th in 2020, 5th in 2021, and 9th in 2022 before surging to second place in 2023 and finally achieving the coveted first place in 2024. The number of people relocating to Gunma, excluding cases involving job transfers and study, has increased for four consecutive years, reaching a record high of 1,479 in fiscal 2023.
