Greetings to everyone.
I am Otosan-no-Conan, Conan's Father.
He is my 1st child and an 8mo old bundle of energy that is getting very frustrated at not being able to talk or walk. Loves to touch everything that is his dad's... Laptop, TV remote, beer...
I am 37, work in the computer field, love just about any visual art medium, appreciate world history, different cultures, enjoy traveling - national and international, been to countries in North America, Cental America, Western Europe, Eastern Asia. I've studied a few languages Spanish, German, Lao, Chinese and Japanese. Didn't master them very well so please don't ask me to recite or translate anything as I am way out of practice. I learned enough to be polite and survive in light social environment.
My wife is Japanese, from Suwa-City in Nagano prefecture.
We've been married about three years and reside in the Los Angeles area.
We celebrate mixed traditions, but mostly whatever benefits her the greatest...
She is a horrible Japanese language teacher so I have resorted to self study in my free time. I understand a lot but speak very poorly.
I eat all types/cusines of food. Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean...
I don't eat organs - Kidneys, livers, hearts, brains, testicles, tripe, spleens, eyes...
So don't expect to see me on Fear Factor... ha ha
I do eat sushi (oishi!!! - uni included) and nato when forced (yuck). I also use my chop-sticks left handed.
I have been to Japan three times and each time it has been a different expirience. Always positive and enjoyable for me.
I was refered to JREF by my friend Pachipro.
I have not had much time to explore the JREF site but have found it very interesting with great postings from what I've seen.
