Great-aunt and great-uncle

All I really need (at the moment) are the Japanese words for great-aunt and great-uncle. I have the kanji:

大叔母
大叔父

However, I don't know for sure how to pronounce the first character (大), although I know what it means. I'm pretty sure that the other two kanji in the words have the kun readings, which probably means that 大 has the kun reading also. So, does that mean that the words are pronounced ōoba and ōoji?

So that is why my copy of Japanese Illustrated: Meeting Japan Through Her Language (by Edward A. Schwarz & Reiko Ezawa) had two kanji for "aunt" & "uncle". The book did not explain the difference between the two kanji terms, and indicated that they are pronounced the same. I obtained the kanji I used from Alta Vista's Babelfish translation function. If I remember correctly, my great-aunt Clarice was the older sister of my grandmother, which would make her my 大伯母. In a strictly technical sense, my great-uncle, her husband was not my blood relative, but I suppose he was still my 大伯父. Those kanji terms are still pronounced ōoba and ōoji, though, correct?

In a strictly technical sense, my great-uncle, her husband was not my blood relative, but I suppose he was still my 大伯父. Those kanji terms are still pronounced ōoba and ōoji, though, correct?

Yes, your great-aunt Clarice was 大伯母, and her husband was your 大伯父!
