Gaydar and the Chart

Well, if you haven't noticed I don't live in Europe *points to the dinky American flag below her avatar etc*...not that I wouldn't love to live in Europe. Besides Japan, the two places I would really love to live in are England and France.

I must admit England seems pretty tolerant. 😌 Although of course you get your share of m o r o n s too... Plus I tend to mix with open minded people and... well, people I consider to be nice :) , and avoid the m o r o n s, so I probably get a slightly rosy view of how tolerant people really are.

And of course, there's those annoying people who for some reason think that someone being gay automatically makes them cool. I have no idea why. :cautious:

That's why I said it is more tolerant ;)

I love the word "rosy" by the way. Sorry, that was random.

Well, if you haven't noticed I don't live in the same area as you. And you can think I'm exaggerating if that helps you sleep at night.

I was surprised to learn that you live in a rather metropolitan area. With some of the things you tell us about your experiences I had at first assumed (hoped, even) that you lived in a very rural area. (I had hoped it was rural so that someday you could move to a more metropolitan and tolerant area).

I guess it just goes to show how wrong my assumption about metro vs. rural attitudes toward acceptance/tolerance were.

Out of curiosity....Do adult homosexuals in your area catch the same amount of crap that the teens do?

Change the word "gay" to "foreign" and that applies to Japan quite nicely as well.

Ha!

That's funny. I think it's REALLY funny when I see a foreigner in Japan wither when confronted with other foreigners. Ever see that happen? It's like watching a balloon deflate. By the way Mike, you never really made too many comments on the English teachers in Japan thread, I was disappointed.

Neither of us are dead yet. Don't assume I'm not going to make a post there.

But damn Mike, you're 40. That's only another 32 years...
(If you're the average American.)

I'll be eagerly awaiting your post!

No, I haven't. But thank you for asking.

Somehow it seems like you didn't mean what you said :D
Aber is ja auch scheiss egal wa ;)

I don't see why it should seem that way. ☝

Anyway, good luck for telling your Dad... a hard thing to do

I meant what I said. Good God! I can't even say "thank you" for something now without someone taking it wrong.

To Kinsao: It is hard. I'm so scared.

Im just paranoid dont mind me (seriously).
But dont worry you're father will still love you any way you are ,if he is a good father :)

Something off topic:
Is it a strange thing ,that I only fall for bi girls?^^

I've only had 2 serious relations and all sorts of stuff in between but nearly every single girl was bi :D
Hey perhaps Im just a girly guy and need someone to protect me^^
I can be pretty dangerous here you know xD

I could be doing that.^^
But Im still really curious ,what sort of harrassement do you have to deal with is it just petty stuff but quite a lot over time or is it more serious?

Like Christians telling me I'm going to burn in hell for all eternity if I don't "see the light. Jesus loves us all. He hates the sin but he loves the sinner" all that wondrous bulls**t. Being called a pervert just because I'm with another girl even though when compared with what other teenagers do with their boyfriends I've stayed pretty f**king "pure." More Christians saying that I "fell into the homosexual lifestyle" because I left the church and now God's "punishing me." And if anything goes wrong in my life they blame it on either the fact that I'm an Atheist or that I'm gay. Right, my dishwasher so broke down because I'm gay. Sure. :cautious:
And then there was this girl named Julie who f**king stalked me over the internet, preaching at me any chance she got. That one was by far the worst, she blamed my sexuality for everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, that has ever gone wrong in my life. Like my dad walking out, my grandma dying (even though that happened long before I knew I was gay), my mom's then failing health and panic attacks. Every misfortune that befell my family was now my fault. She also was one of those people who would say things like, "It is possible to get out of the homosexual lifestyle by way of Jesus. Just look at me." Which made me unbelievably sad, she mad me so angry and hurt but I still felt sad for her because she was hiding who she really was behind her "faith."
But yeah, must of the harassment I've been through has been from dear "loving" Christians.
I've also had to deal with indirect harassment, like people within earshot of me ranting about how homosexuality is "so gross and wrong" and I have to stand there and not say anything 'cause their my mom's family and I'm not supposed to say anything to offend them. Those, for some reason, are always hard to bare. I guess it's the not being able to say anything part that makes it difficult.
It's the condescending attitude that really gets me, they act like they're better then me just because they like d**k and fear God. They treat me as though I'm something less then human, like it doesn't matter if they treat me like s**t 'cause after all I'm just a pervert and a sinner.
And also, I live in what seems like the Christian capital of the world so I suppose that's why even though I live near a city I still get a lota Bible-thumpin'-crazies whose catch phrase is, *strikes the mom pose from Carrie* "I pray you find Jesus!" There are seriously churchs everwhere you turn around here.

That is really strange I do go to church but only on my own ,when our priest has gone out to be alone ,because nobody goes to church here.^^
But seriously hiding stupidity and intolerance behind a religion is absolutly crap and of they really treat you like that just ask them why they are so afraid of what might happen to them if they give it a try ;)
Personally I think you're intelligent, and also quite charismatic even if you tend to be zynnical... 😊
so just get out of that place and find a place ,where you can be more open what about berlin or london I cant give you any other suggestion ,because I dont know to much about american cities apart from the geographic data :D
But hey you've got our gf look like me Im more or less integrated into my community but nobody loves me so be happy with what you have for the time beeing =)
And thing of what Bob said :"Get up stand up get up stand up for your rights"!
