Gackt Or Hyde?

I don't think I have heard any Hydes music. I have got Gackts Diabolos album and he has a fair voice. BTW can you recommend any other of his albums?:?
I've seen Moonchild, though, and Hyde seems the better actor. More natural, so it is difficult to choose. Maybe you should have put a third choice, Both as Good as each other, for us wimps who can't decide

LOL I agree!!! I mean there's no need to fight just all of us expressing our own opinion! I THINK they are both very talented...and even though I dont find Hyde THAT cute/pretty/hot/insert any other adjective I think he isnt a bad looking guy; personally I prefer Gackt I think he's beautiful. Im not a singer and I dont know almost anything about voices ( I only sang in a musical but didnt have an important role hehehe) but I think both of them have incredible ones, each of them different; again in my personal opinion I like Gackt's better. Well Over all I prefer Gackt but I do admire/like Hyde because there's no doubt he's an awsome singer!

Well, whatever. I'm going to stop talking about their images now. I do see similarity in my personality and Gackt's image, so that's likely influenced my preference.

I find Hyde's eyes special. I've seen a lot of Caucasians with his type of eyes, but not Asians, so I guess that might be why. I saw some pictures that are supposed to be of highschool!Hyde, and his eyes looked somewhat different. Makes me wonder if he's had surgery. I like Hyde's eyes, but Gackt's face (and eyes) just have a heartbreaking quality, e.g. in the Secret Garden pv.

Hyde's eyes may look different because of that famous injury or maybe because people change as they grow, it's NATURAL. If you look at my childhood pictures my eyes look a bit different then they do now. Does that mean I've had surgery? NO. People change as they grow, that's why it's called growing.
Why does EVERYONE have to think that every single J-Rocker under the sun has had surgery??? Honestly! What is with you people? People say Gackt's completely plastic which isn't true, say that Miyavi's had work done, and now Hyde?? Good God people! What's the big deal, at least he doesn't look like he is falling apart, not like Wacko Jacko. If you have the money and wish to look better, why not? It's not harming anyone is it. Doesn't make them any better at singing, or worse.

I voted for HYDE.
Gackt is doubtless talented, but he's too robotic. There's never a spontaneous moment with him; everything seems calculated or contrived. He's also blatantly narcissistic, which is rather obnoxious and turn off-y.
Voice-wise, Gackt is good. It's not anything that'll pull at my heartstrings, make me shed a tear or whatever. His incessant vibrato is rather annoying, too; he needs to learn how to control it. If it's deliberate, then...I really can't say anything, except: WHY?

I do give Gackt props for his music, though. It's pretty good. A talented musician, I can't dispute.
hyde appeals to me more because he comes across as the genuine article: what you see is essentially what you get, but with that underlying aura of mystery that makes him so attractive.
Voice-wise, I share the same sentiment as everyone else: there's more raw talent. It's wild, un-harnessed...beautiful. If you listen to songs like "hitomi no jounin", "Anemone", "As if in a dream", "finale", "ibara no namida", "hoshizora", "yokan", anything off ROENTGEN, you'll understand where I'm coming from. Overall, the proper adjective to describe his voice would be "haunting". And yes, I, Mari, The Ice Queen, have shed a tear or two listening to him sing.
Also, some of my favorite L'Arc songs ("ibara no namida", "LORELEY", "Sell My Soul", etc.) are ones hyde composed, so he definitely commands my respect in regards to his musicianship.
And now, ladies and gentlemen, the final judgment: LOOKS.
HYDE > Gackt.

I don't know the details but when he was younger he got hit in the eye, or something, and that's why one of his eyes won't open as far as the other now. And that's ANOTHER thing! If he'd had surgery don't you think he would have fixed that?? I don't think he's had anything done, I think he really is just that gorgeous all on his own.

I don't believe hyde's had eye surgery, especially when you look at really old indies photos (in fact, his eyes were even larger those days -- an indication that he's aged naturally). Any kind of procedure is very costly and back then (the days before lid surgery was a rampant disease in East Asia) his financial status was pretty shabby; they were poor, to paraphrase his own words. (I also, despite being a "halfling", didn't develop a noticeable double-lid till much later in life.)

When he fell, he also received a whopping gash on his neck next to a major artery (one that helps control motor skills on the left side of the body); he was bleeding profusely and going in and out of conciousness. If this old man hadn't just happened to be passing by, he speculates that he probably would have bled to death.

1) I wasn't talking about Jrockers. Just Hyde. Miyavi isn't plastic, Gackt isn't plastic, Ayu might be plastic, WHATEVER.
2) If you're so sure he didn't have the surgery, why the rampant use of exclamation marks and caps? Slightly touchy?

As far as I know, there's only one clear picture of hyde from his high school days (I'm referring to the black and white mug shot). He does look more oriental, but so did my grandfather at that age (his face was more fleshy, an indication of youth). I can say for a fact that as he approached his mid-20s and 30s, he began to look more occidental, in his eyes especially, despite being full-blooded Japanese. If he wasn't my grandfather and I met him in his prime...

Uh... I thought hyde was Red/Green colour blind. Total colour blindness is EXTREMELY rare and that case of colour blindness you've described... I'm not even sure if it exists. He must have some pretty weird rods and cones in his eye to get that ☝

The Red/Green category. This is the most common form of colour blindness and would mean that he gets red and green a bit confused. There are different levels of severity. Some only can't tell them apart when it's light coloured, others can't tell them apart even if they're brightly coloured.

I always thought that hyde only has difficulty telling apart the lighter shades of pink and pale green. This doesn't pose as a problem in daily life but if he were to pursue a career in art, it does become a bit of a problem.

1. I'm not sure, but I think his malewho outfit is pretty close... And I have a pic of him wearing a pretty kimono and you can swear he's a woman.
2. I think girls think of Hyde's face as prettier because he looks a bit more lika guy. He has more... masculine features (at least now he does).

It's quite a decition to make here. I definetly voted Gackt. I fell inlove with the guy even before i saw a picture of him. and once i did.. I could never leave him anymore.

Both voices sound very very good, each in it's own way, and they're definetly better like.. as to say: Klaha (lets not go there). Hyde's voice cheers me up; Gackt's voice calms and relaxes me, no matter what they singing.

I guess what makes them both so atractive is the way they have been presented to people. Hyde is more natural, like.. a real man. We know facts about Hyde, even his name!! (which I cant remember now)-
Gackt has always been presented as an enigma. I have a pic of him from High school, and he was cute, but had nothing particularly.. astonishing. BUT, he's always been kept in the mistery: No name but Gackt, no birthdate, no nothing!! We are fed in the illusion of him being a Vampire and we just love that.

They have very different styles, but it doesnt matter. Not even they're sexuality matters for us!! I mean, Hyde's married, but Gackt's deeply in love with him and we just cant help to love them both, can we?
