Gackt Or Hyde?

I picked Gackt because in many of the pictures I have seen Hyde looks as if he has no eyebrows. Not that I have a problem with that or anything. Not to mention Gackt's voice is wonderful.
 
That would probably be because Hyde shaved off his eyebrows for L'Arc~en~Ciel's PV to their song "Shinshoku ~Lose Control~"

Oh, and to rehash: Gackt smokes too people so the "smoking ruined Hyde's voice" thing don't wash with me. Listen to "Season's Call" that is so vocally brilliant and perfect, you can't say smoking ruined his voice after hearing that song. Okay. I'm done.
 
Actually Season's Call was part of what turned me away from Hyde's voice. It sounded so strained in some of the high parts, nothing like the easy smoothness of Gackt's voice, which didn't change in quality in all the years I've heard him.

I started piano when I was almost 13, but I'm fairly ok on it now (repertoire includes Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, etc.) My typing is something like 150+ wpm. I'm not ambidextrous, but I can write with my LH (I'm right handed). Oh, and not really finger-related, but I have perfect pitch. As for the early age--I played keyboard for a while when I was like four, but it was really, really horrible and I quit.

to some of his music every blue moon but pretty much the only way I'll listen to him is if it's the duet he did with Hyde, "Orenji no Taiyou" (although I do still listen to "Secret Garden", "uncontrol" and "Vanilla" occasionally). I think Hyde is a better artist to be completely frank; better actor, better singer, better lyricist...better LOOKING even though Gackt is definitely gorgeous, the list goes on and on (and I think he's a better person too, not that Gackt's a BAD person but yeah). I mean, I do still love Gackt just nowhere NEAR as much as I once did and not as much as Hyde. Hyde is just such a bundle of joy, who wouldn't love him?
Also, Lives make or break an artist for me and Hyde's better Live. Not "better" vocally ('cause in that respect Gackt's better Live then on recordings which makes me sick) but emotionally. He just lets his emotions go whereas Gackt is always in control, even when he's crying he is still in control. Nothing seems to happen organically with Gackt, it all seems staged or contrived. Hyde is very human on stage and I connect with him emotionally whenever I see him perform. His emotions don't feel planned, they simply bubble up naturally.

Oh yeah, I just realized that after digging the photoshoot up from the depths of the Gackt is Pretty thread. It was just kind of hard to believe you'd post a Gackt pic for the sake of it.

i voted gackt, in my opinion he is a better artist then hyde..
of course a personal taste plays a part in it..

About his singing, even in cain's feel he has a very good voice.
on the other hand gackt is a perfectionist so he might even train himself in singing.


i respect/like hyde cause of his natural style but not as much as gackt :-)
hyde looks young in this picture btw, how old is he here?

Well, I'm a singer, I come from a family of singers. My mom has the most gorgeous voice ever in my opinion and perfect pitch and she agrees with me about "Season's Call." Vocally that song is brilliant, it's something I aspire to reach but know I never will. But you have your opinion, I have mine too bad they don't match.

Oh and P.S. Yeah, but Hyde makes a much better 'woman' and looks smashing in a dress. :-) Who needs schoolgirl uniforms when you can wear an evening gown and look better then Mana?
 
haha mana is not girly he's just the perfect example of halloween custom's should be like (not some cheap corny frankie masks)
 
Musically, I think Hyde is better, though i've only heard a few Gackt songs (which I wasn't too fond of.)

Well, whatever. I'm not a singer. I wouldn't know. I prefer piano.

He didn't look that fantastic in the schoolgirl outfit. Maybe he should've toned the body language down? -cough- and stop flashing everyone his underwear. It's freaky how much he looks like a woman sometimes though, especially when it's unintentional.

Ophelia: Finale Live is good, but kinda (really) melodramatic. I'll probably like it more after listening more to it though.

I never said Mana was "girly" 'cause he isn't. I tend to think of Mana more as a woman then a chick or a girly-girl. He's elegant not flamboyant.
 
mana is what i would refer to as a very.. sophisticated classy woman +) hahah he's not girly... but then again... i dont think hydeis really that girly either... well at least not anymore... back in those days, when l'arc was still indies, he may have seemed a little more girlier... but he's not really on my list of girlies... he's just cute and adorable like a little kid =)
now gackt... he's manly beyond manly... he's never been associated as girly/feminine in my mind..
hm... they both look good... they both sound really good... hm...whether its just me ... i think caz they've both been around for so long and have relased a bazilllion singles/albums, their new stuff all tend to sound like their previous songs... i think its just me tho?

Sure "The Nepenthes" is hot but Gackt has his share of hotness in "Vanilla"

As for hot L'Arc songs, I liked "Metropolis" more than "Nepenthes". It has better lyrics and doesn't have that overly repetitive chorus "Nepenthes" has.

ahh..talkin bout hyde's lyrics thats gotta be hard to choose which are the best, larc got somany albums already, and singles..hyde's solo, the brilliant lyrics that he has written..i'm not able to count. sometimes its just hard to believe how complex and beautiful mind he has. sure, metropolis is one of the most memorable song and hyde sang it so playfully, it just got different taste and atmosphere than nepenthes. love them both
 
Well....I voted for Gackt....hehe, mostly because I haven't heard any of Hyde's music.....:p
But I am looking into it :-)
