Sharing a free Japanese vocabulary tool I built that organizes about 1,600 words across 71 everyday themes. No signup, no paywall, no email collection.

The themes split into two groups.
Situational, real-life themes — the kind of vocabulary you actually need the first time you walk into one of these places in Japan: Bank (25 words, with account, deposit, withdraw, ATM, interest, currency exchange), Pharmacy, Police Station, Salon, Post Office, Gas Station, Kindergarten, Library, Supermarket, Cafe, Fast Food.
Daily-use themes: Kitchen Tools (17), Tableware (17), Seasoning (15), Taste (15), Weather (32 — sun, rain, snow plus related verbs and adjectives), Body Parts (35), Family (30), Clothes (32), Occupation (50 — doctor, engineer, journalist, banker, chef), Countries (123), Numbers (36).
Each theme page has a sortable table with kanji + hiragana + romaji + English on every row, a JLPT sort toggle (N5 to N1 or N1 to N5), and a Copy-All button that outputs tab-separated text and pastes straight into Anki's import dialog.
How I built it to be used: pick a theme tied to something you are actually doing this week — a doctor's visit, a job interview, a trip to the post office — sort N5 to N1, then copy the words you don't already know into your SRS deck. Topic-anchored vocab seems to stick noticeably better than topic-less N5 wordlists, at least for me.
Genuinely open to feedback: which themes feel thin or missing, whether the JLPT level tags look off on any words, whether the Copy-All output works cleanly in your study setup. Also happy to add new themes by request.
