Forum maintainance

Does this forum,like many of the others I use, get closed down for routine maintainance?

If so, do users get advance warnings of events due to happen?

This forum does close down for a while so now and then when there is a new update available, most of the time the maintenance will not take longer than 1-2 hours and it only happens 2-4 times a year I believe.

There is a new version out, so there shall be a maintenance in the upcoming week.

Users will hear how and when about 1 day, or a couple of hours before the maintenance.

I still have nightmares about the change over a few years back that went bad. JREF was down for about 3 weeks(man it was torture)! The hard core members found another member's small website and camped out there for the 3 weeks, all suffering without their JREF daily fix, LOL. The worst part was having no contact with admin and not knowing what was going on or when & if JREF was coming back. Hope that never happens again, my heart might give out, LOL.

Thanks for that info Dutch Baka, will keep my eyes open just in case.

Oh no Uncle Frank, that is never nice, the site that I help administrate went down for only 12 hours, and that was bad lol.
If this site ever crashed then I would open up a sub forum on my site for all JREF members to camp in and keep in touch with each other lol.
