I know I said I was done but I would like to comment on the word "Still"
The Japanese do not "still" look down on homosexuality. It's the reverse. They USED to be completely and totally open to it but then in the Meiji Era the West changed that real quick giving the Japanese guilt complexes over it and phobias. So they don't "still" look down on it, some generations just do NOW.

That's probobly true, Hyde. At least in china, sex between men was pretty 'normal' I think (not that Japan is China!), but as mentioned earlier you had to get married and have a family.
Like in Japan now, I've heard it's like "no one's really homosexual, but when your young you can cuddle your buddy a bit just cause it looks cute. But it's a kids thing and something you'll grow out of", or whatever.
Also, I have trouble beleiving that american men are really such slobs.
Norway is very influenced by America, and here, guys spend way much time in the morning trying to get their hair to look like they just got out of bed.
They are also heavy stinkers on the public transports, wearing a lot of perfume, and it's important to look just right(even though that's not great at all in my opinion).
But there are a lot of alternative ways ofcourse, and a lot of slobs

And the drug thing, I know it sounds naive, but I think there is truth to it! And not nessecarily because j-rockers are more of angels than other rock stars, but simply because the laws and "morals" are so strong.
There is a lot more at stake for them. If they get caught their whole career is most likely over. They'll just disappear.
And also, their fans will be angry. At them! So they'll be held down by that as well.

I'm well aware that the Japanese were open to homosexuality before westernization. I did a paper on it. But I was just referring to the times after Japan was "modernized" since its more applicable to the present.

But either way, i'm Chinese not Japanese and don't live in Japan so I'm no expert in the matter, i just find Japan fascinating in that its a traditional, strict, and formal on the surface but their culture allows for more acceptance of different forms of expression....it's hard to explain....
