follow a course.... business, or design, etc

I am planning to stay in Japan for a while, and was wondering what the options are to follow courses and get a certificate here in Japan.

I would like to start something for myself in the future, but have no background in for example in business. So it it possible to follow a course by myself at home, or in a school, after work for example, in Japanese.

Does anyone got some experience with this, or know if these kind of courses are available... or is this only available when you work for a company and they want you to do stuff.

What kind of certificate you want to get anyway?

But if you're talking about night course, yes, theres plenty of them.
Most 専門学校 have them. And In my school, our night course
have alot of working salaryman in it.

Never been to a university here in Japan so I can't say.

No idea about courses that you can follow at home tho.

I found a way to go back to school again for 2-3 years (I can study at home, send things trough the internet, but I do have to go back to my country for certain examinations) but the thing is...

What kind of degree would be useful for me in Japan?
A business/management degree? or an informatics multimedia degree ? etc

I am planning on passing the JLPT 2 this summer, and want to improve my Japanese skills as much as possible in the upcoming 3 years.

Anyway... I need some advice.

Recession proof job ?

They say the medical field here in the US is about the best for job security because of a growing elder population. It would seem Japan would be the same. Working in an area where you help the elderly and sick can be very rewarding emotionally and money wise.I suppose in Japan, your job could be taken over by a robot someday. Maybe FrustratedDave would have some ideas on the medical field being a possible job area for you.

Your question is way too vague. You have not even indicated what skills you have, what you have studied before, what you are interested in, or what you would like to do afterwards. How should anyone hear know what a completely random person "should" "do," both words in the broadest sense possible.

A business degree (IMO) would help you find work easier, but information technology might be best suited if you want to remain self employed. If you are capable of handling English and Japanese quite fluently then I think the IT degree would lend itself to more success.
