Hi,

I'm looking for a flash card program, preferably free, for Japanese learning that does two things:

1) The cards can be automatically loaded from a friendly format (csv, xls, txt, etc.). Or the input format is simple enough that I can easily convert from those friendly formats.
For example, it would be nice if the software can take the input from the following csv file:
犬, dog
教室, classroom
...
and put them on the 2 sides of the card.

2) The software allows for auto-piloting, i.e. the cards reveal/change at an interval that can be set by the user.

As far as I know, the software "Kanji Gold" has automatic piloting and "somewhat" allows for personally-created flash cards. However they are for Kanjis only! I'd prefer something that allows the flash card content to be virtually anything (Japanese or not).

Anybody has ideas? I'd really appreciate your help!

-Thanks in advance

Anki and Mnemosyne(sp?) are pretty good. I've used Anki and you can use it for just about anything.

Thanks for the info! Anki is the greatest thing I've seen for a long time...Loving it right now!!
Still I was not able to find the ability to auto-pilot, i.e. cards automatically flip over and move on to the next card at some defined intervals of time...do you know of this feature of Anki?
