First time japan

I haven't been to very many places in Japan, so I can't give too much advice.

Nara is interesting just so you can see the deer. It really is quite bizzare, though be careful...if you give them food they don't leave you alone.

I really recommend a trip to Hiroshima, the museum there was the highlight of my trip. Though you might not want to eat before you go in, some of the images and stories are quite graphic.

BTW: welcome to the forums! :-)

Okay, thanks for the reply I'll keep that in mind.. Especially the deer part (sounds nasty) :P

this tip applies to ALL travel:

always take enough extra money for another ticket home...
you place this in some other place than the rest of your cash/tickets..
this way, whatever happens, odds are you will still be able to get home

180 000 ツ・ for transportation???erm...I don't know about you...but It'll cost me about 750 -850 $ to go there & back.... and I live further away from Jp :joyful:

Why did you pick Kobe? Hiroshima/Miyajima is a more common destination and well worth it. On the other hand, Kobe is a little off the typical tourist itinerary so it would be something different.

One day in Himeji should be plenty. In fact, I'd probably make it a day trip if you've got a rail pass.

Well.. :

If I may ask, are you going back to Tokyo at the end of your trip for only taking a plane?

There is an international airport in Osaka, that could save you some money & time for more activities.

Here is the website.

I was on the net looking for a plane ticket, and i found at turn/return (1 ticket for both in and out) was like significantly cheaper, although the site i used were pretty buggy.

180.000JPY is not just for the plane, also for every traintrip to a "new" city, so it runs up i guess..

Well Kobe mainly because I had heard the exact same thing, (the tourist thing) so I looked on the net and it has a few interesting things at least, and well, I like the name :P
Okay, So just taking to Himeji in the morning, coming back later the same day? Didn't know it had that little 😊 (No offense anyone) :)
