I am filling out the form for my MEXT which was given to me by the university I will be attending (for graduate school). I believe this is different from the form given out to those who are going through embassy recommendation (I was recommended by a university). The only instructions I received are "Proposed study program in Japan (state the outline of your major field of study and details of your study program)."
Under Field of Study I listed my degree program, professor, and laboratory I would be working in and what my research is focused on.
Under study program I am more confused. I seem to have the idea that they are looking for course listing I would take, however, I wont have that decided until I enter Japan and discuss it with my advisor. So now I am left with putting down that I will be doing ___ research under my professor, taking courses that are focused on X, Y, Z, and developing ____. It feels pretty weak overall. My supervisor suggested I write a more open ended research plan because research changes constantly, and its best to decide the track upon entering the school.
Does anyone have any suggestions or interpretations? I wouldnt want to have a weak study program and then be rejected by MEXT after working to get the university recommendation ;_;
Thanks for the help. Goodluck to those who are still working on their scholarships.
