The Tokyo Shinbun reported how much of an ingrained habit mask-wearing has become. Pupils are getting more hesitant to take off their masks and reveal their faces. The article below points out that in Japan the trend to hide behind masks had already started before the pandemic.
Just yesterday, a JH teacher told me that about 50% of her students refuse to take off their masks during online classes. The school board asked her and the other teachers not to exert any pressure.
