I'd say "... better known around the world." Or ".... all over/throughout the world" also common
③ The storyteller used to pause so much that he didn't seem very confident to American audience.
The storyteller paused so much that he didn't seem very confident to American audience.
④ He told us about the second World War as if he had fought in the war. OK but more common to say "... fought in it." Because you already mentioned the war so we understand what "it" is and this removed the repeated word
