English premier league on TV

Just arrived back to live in Japan again after 15-year break. Delighted to see a sports bar has just opened in the sleepy little town I stay. However they claim NONE of the satellite TV channels in Japan show premiership matches live this season. It seems amazing. Is it really true?

Not a satellite TV, but an internet broadcasting system Sportsnavi broadcasts all the matches live.

Thanks - it's good info because I'll be subscribing at home soon. I'm on my way out now to watch my team play live tonight - means a 90-minute trip each way to a bar in the nearest city (I did more phoning around) so definitely need a way to watch at home.

Don't really notice many changes, though I have visited every year or every other year since I left.

One thing that jumped out at me is that Fukuoka seems much more cosmopolitan now. Whenever I'm on the underground I notice a lot more Korean and (especially) Chinese speakers than I remember.

I'll be working together with my wife to open a niche inbound travel agency. I'm also planning to open a business offering support to other business owners to help their websites work more effectively for them - ie; get more bookings and enquiries and achieve higher Google ranking. Seems I'm in the right city at the right time if this article is anything to go by:

I was in Fukuoka last week. Was at Canal City for the first time. You'd think I was either in China or Korea. Yes, Fukuoka seems like where it is all happening these days for business. Good luck on your business adventure. Maybe next time I'm in Fukuoka we can meet at Canal City. Should be going again in the near future. I saw a guitar shop there on the main street that I want to check out. Looked like it had a 1000 guitars for sale. OK , see ya on the forum.

I'm Liverpool.

But I noticed last weekend when I checked J-Sports schedule there didn't seem to be any premier league matches shown at all. Doesn't seem worth subscribing at all because premier league is the only sport that interests me - plus sumo , if I can get English commentary like I used to on BS2 (don't think they have that any longer).

Bein sport have a streaming option called bein connect and they have the rights for the premier league.

There is also the IPTV option, it's the option I found for the answer to my topic :

PS : Liverpool has my sympathy. I met John Toshack once in a Cafe in Casablanca and we chatted a little and told him I hope he will take my favorite team to Japan. He was coaching Wydad Casablanca and they were playing the African Champions league, winning it would have taken them to the 2016 Clubs World Cup in Japan but they failed on the semi finals.

I guess he never dreamed of Wydad Casablanca when he was a kid - but then they didn't get paid the crazy money in his day so I suppose he has to keep working like the rest of us.

I checked J-Sports schedule again and they don't have another live match at all this season.

Earlier in the thread someone recommended Sportsnavi プレミアリーグ - スポナビライブ but I heard it's crappy quality and anyway when I tried to download the App from Google Play I got the message "not available in your country" (which is odd).

I'll try Bein sport but my internet connection is so poor here it isn't worth it until I change ISP - disappointed my connection here is slower than when I was living in Indonesia.

How do I get IPTV? We don't have any satelliteTV at the moment so any idea what I'd need to subscribe to?

if you're internet isn't good (which is strange in Japan) I guess IPTV will be useless a well. I bought my IPTV set-top-box in my home country but I guess you can order it from China.

Been watching the premier league all weekend using the sportsnavi app. HD streaming to tv from phone with chromecast, quality has been excellent.
I also had problems downloading app but found it on following site to sideload it....

Another option is to load the mobdro app on android, its not in appstore so search for it, had good results with that too.

Thought I'd update this thread since I subscribed to DAZN

1. Super-easy to use with no boxes or other equipment required (just need internet connection)

2. Can't sign up with credit card issued by foreign bank

3. Get free 1-month trial

4. Not locked into fixed contract so can cancel with 1 month notice

5. I use on chrome on Mac or use their app on android. Lots of other ways to watch too, like Apple TV

6. They show 5 English Premier league matches each week

7. Can watch live, catch up or highlights

8. Only works within Japan

9. Good quality picture with no buffering (with my internet connection at least)

10. From my memory it's about ¥2500 per month

11. They show a ton of other leagues and other sports too

12. Commentary is in 日本語 only

By the way if you want to download their android app (and some other apps too I noticed) from google playstore you might get message saying "not available in your country" even if you are here in Japan. Workaround is to open a throwaway gmail account while you're here in Japan and use that account to connect to playstore.
