🙂 Konnichiwa mina! I was wondering if I could get some help from you all! My mother is very sick, and she can't have anything fishy or she'll get sick to her stomach. I want to giver her a soup that has a light broth, possibly clear, and not high in fat or sodium.. Is there such a thing that I can make for her so she could eat something? Thankyou very much for the help!:-)

When sickly, Japanese eat the rice porridge so often.

The rice porridge does not have a burden to a body.
Because, it is early digested.👍

How about good old "chicken noodle soup"? You can make it very hearty and nutritious with vegetables.

Or, the egg drop soup is easy on your stomach and can be filling. Super easy to make. Just pour beaten egg slowly in a hot chicken stock, season with salt & pepper and add some minced chives or parsely on top.

I would say try a nice chicken or turkey soup. Don't add any potatos or the like or it might be too rich for your mother. Something I like to do is grate a few carrots into the soup to add flavor.

I hope this helps and that your mother gets better soon.

If you make the chicken soup yourself it will have less fat and salt in it. I make such a soup by using what is left after eating a roasted chicken. Bones and what is stuck to the bones. Put in a pot with water to cover it and simmer until the meat falls off the bones. Strain it and put in refrigerator. The fat will rise to the top and you can scrape it off. Reheat it and taste it to see if you want to add seasoning. But it is good just like this.
